Canon Point: Early Volume 12, when Klaus Wuffenbach is presumed dead after the attack on the Great Hospital.
Gender & Sex: Female/Female
Age: no canon age stated, 30
Birthdate/Sign: April 10th/Aries. Note: Birthday is head canon and was chosen with this article. Individuals born on this date are ambitious people who have to do things their own way. DuPree fits as an Aries though mostly through its negative traits. She’s a very energetic leader who accepts challenges. At the same time, she can be brash and doesn’t like being told what to do. She’s very much an aggressor and temperamental without anyone to rein her in. She displays a chipper personality and is very lively when compared to her coworkers. Her mindset when it comes to anything is “action now, ask questions later” and backing down is not an option. Despite her disposition, she has insecurities that she hides.
Tattoo: A tattoo of the Aries symbol about 2 inches big and on her upper left arm, by her shoulder.
Suitability: n/a
Power: none in canon, so manipulation: calling fire.
Personality:
DuPree loves violence. This comes from the fact she comes from a family of pirates and is currently a pirate queen. According to the novel adaptation of the comic, which expands much more on DuPree, her family worshiped a malevolent god and she has been on a journey to reclaim her family island from the rioting natives that killed her mother and also seek revenge against a mysterious culprit on the run responsible for her crew’s undoing. Her love of violence could be seen as a way to deal with her fear of death. If she can enjoy mass murder and violence without getting hurt, then she can believe she can control death and is above it, disolving that fear.
Her skills in fighting and torture are even considered on par with her employer, Klaus Wulfenbach the Baron of Europa. It’s because of that violent streak, Klaus has to keep her on leash. He recruited her because he would rather have her on his side than fighting against him. She has a habit of interpreting orders very loosely but when ordered correctly, she has proven to be very efficient.
Although she is a pirate queen, she only takes orders from Klaus and his son Gilgamesh. To gain any shred of respect and loyalty from her however, is a very difficult task. If someone is up to it, they must be able to fully impress her or provide her with something she cannot gain on her own. For Klaus, he agreed to help get any information about the people responsible for the destruction of her base and crew. DuPree, in the meantime, would be able to do what she loves and does best on anyone foolish enough to challenge the House of Wulfenbach.
While sometimes she may not agree with the orders all the time, she is fiercely loyal to the Baron and his heir. It should be noted that she is a freelancer but also considered to be part of Klaus’s inner circle of associates. In fact, he even asked her to train Gilgamesh in combat techniques as he studied in Paris. Surprisingly, she is one of the few individuals who is not afraid of the Baron and treats him like an equal.
One of the few times she reluctantly had to obey was when she was sent away by Klaus as he was hospitalized. The hospital he was recovering in was attacked by rival forces during that time and DuPree rushed to find him among the rubble but to no success. Even though she has been employed under the Baron for three years, it’s clear she sees him as more than just an employer when she cries at the thought of Klaus gone forever. The fact she was away when the event occurred, and once again she was powerless against it, probably brought back strong memories of returning to her homeland to find her mother dead.
As seasoned as she is on the battlefield, her arrogance can be her undoing. There are moments where she gloated too soon or overlooked a detail that would lead to her failure. Such times even resulted her in a broken jaw or similar injuries.
On the other hand, DuPree has no problem with people following her. As a pirate queen, she expects people to either follow her or fear her. For her crew, they must be able to pull their own weight and any stragglers and failures are subject to torture and/or death by her hands.
Despite the loss of her home and crew, DuPree manages to stay very chipper and with a sense of humor. This makes her a perfect foil to well-intended extremists like Klaus or introverts in general. Her sense of humor does include instigating people for amusement without restraint. She deals with stuffy politicians and administrative staff, but keeps her language casual even to Klaus and is not above going into details that maybe a little too graphic than people would normally allow.

[The video feed clicks on to show a dark skinned curvy woman dressed in a white captain’s uniform and red sweater with a skull-shaped bindi on her forehead.]
Oh wow. This is something new. Voice, text and now even these ‘video’ messages? Klaus would have a field day trying to figure how this works and modify it. Maybe even see if he can use it in some new waffle making scheme.
[She picks the device recording and gives it a look around, humming some sort of cheery tune. Hope you don’t get motion sickness easily with the camera jerking going around.]
Now the bigger question is, how can I use this to kill people? This place gets a little too quiet and all this talk of worship is boring. I want to know where the real action is. You know, all the killing and torture a girl could possibly ask for?
Oh well, just leave me a message if you know something.
[The video feed shuts off to an image to a waving Bangladesh.]
"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
One minute Bangladesh DuPree was in the giant airship known as Castle Wulfenbach, the next thing she knew she was on solid ground. She covered her eyes from the sun light that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. She could’ve sworn it was night last time she checked. This wasn’t the town known as Mechanicsburg.
There wasn’t a single sign of destruction here, let alone any habitable homes nearby. She even looked up at the sky since it would be hard to miss a blimp large enough to host a fortress and city to surround it. She furrowed her brow in thought. This wasn’t the Wastelands because she knew it like the back of her hand from her work. Everything smelled too clean for her. It wasn’t a surgical, douse everything in disinfectant smell but a more fresh, untouched sort of clean. She wrinkled her nose, wishing it was swapped with the smell of smoke and murder from her handiwork.
DuPree looked around her and then stared at her surroundings. She was unable to identify the circle around her. Then something caught her attention from the corner of her eye. There was a stone altar in the middle surrounded by a ring of water.
“Oh my, what do we have here?” She cracked a smile as she walked up to it. From what she could tell, this place looked rather low-tech compared to her world. No one, not even a security clank, was around to patrol the area. Also it was too quiet for her liking.
For Bangladesh, treasure was a second thought for her compared to the rest of the crew. It was the thrill of murder, the screams from torture and all the violence she could get that would make a day perfect. When her eyes made contact with the glowing box sitting on the center stone altar, her mind was consumed with the obsession to have that box. Without any hesitation, she stepped over the ring of water. As both of her feet crossed over, she hissed. “Ow! Now who am I gonna have to stab to get some an--”
In mid-sentence, she felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder and the water surrounding the altar shot up, cutting off any route of escape. She growled in frustration until something started to appear in the water. It was hard to make out at first but it became clear it was her own reflection only without matching clothes. A pale faint glow appeared on the same shoulder she felt the pain. Curious, she turned so she could see for herself. A pink bordering white mark appeared on her shoulder. It could’ve passed as a new scar on her dark skin but she wasn’t fooled. No one got away from giving her a mark of any sort. She was already plotting out the best method to torture when she finds the culprits. In her hand, there was a concealed stiletto in case she was ambushed. As quick as the water rose it up, it crested back into its groove in the ground
Quietly she put away the concealed weapon and looked down at the box again. The glow faded away and she opened it. Bangladesh took out the letter first and then stuffed the communications device into her coat pocket.
“Dearest Bangladesh DuPree,...oh, glad to see someone appreciates my work...blah blah blah...” Her eyes stopped at the strange symbols at the bottom. The first one matched the new tattoo on her shoulder. “Well, I better go find whoever that symbol belongs to. I got a new hit on my must torture list. ”
